What a sponsor gets

Read this before your first ask. Once you know why a business says yes, asking gets a lot easier.

Four real reasons they say yes

1. Locals see their name. Their logo goes where the package says, whether that's your jersey, the team or the whole league. The people at our games are players, families and friends from around here. That's who a local shop wants to reach.

2. They get to back something local. Plenty of owners played a sport growing up, or their kids play now. Backing a local team feels good, and it shows they're part of the neighborhood.

3. They get a reason to post. Every sponsor gets their own page that shows their business first. Some packages add a thank-you post or a photo with you in kit. That's something they can share with their own customers.

4. It's a deal with someone they know. They aren't sending money to a stranger. They're backing you, the person who's been coming in for two years. That's why your list starts with people who already know your name.

What happens after they say yes

  1. They open your link and pick a package. The price is a starting point. They can add more if they want.
  2. They pay by card or bank transfer.
  3. They upload their logo and business details right there.
  4. The league approves it, and then it's final.
  5. They get their sponsor page and a running list of everything they've received during the season.

Anything bought through your link is credited to you. You never handle money, invoices or logo files.

What they don't get

No promise of customers. No follower counts. Don't make any up.

Be straight with them. "You're backing a local team, and here's exactly where your name goes." That's the honest pitch, and it's enough.

Never say it's a tax write-off. That's their accountant's call, not yours.

Know your packages cold

Open your page before you ask anyone. Read every package. Know your cheapest one ($150) by heart.

When someone asks "what do I get?", show them your page on your phone. Don't guess from memory.
